The system shown is designed to monitor a fishing beam trawl when in contact with the seabed. The receiver, (attached to the cable drum), is used as a "dunking" transducer and passes data to a PC via a small interface module plugged into the serial port. The Sonar transmitter is shown alongside and is powered from integral re-chargeable batteries.
