A prototype system was designed and developed in 2001. This system uses high frequency acoustics to transmit encoded data between a sub-sea instrument and a surface receiver which processes the data and communicates the result to a PC.

The picture on the left shows the prototype electronics and the transducer clamp used to convert electrical signals into acoustic signals

This system is still in the development phase.
